May 2004

 

5/7-5/8             Troop Camp Out @ Camp Baker – sign ups by this Thursday, April 29, 2004;

Drop off 6:00 PM on Friday & pick up by parents 4:30 PM on Saturday

5/17                 Greenbar @ Adam Matthai’s house 7:30 PM; all Scouts are welcome & encouraged to come

anyone with ideas for troop meetings/camp events should attend this meeting

5/18                 Troop Committee Meeting @ Glenn Rosenthal’s house 7:00 PM;

Hamburgers and Hot Dogs will be served, all parents are invited,

call Glenn Rosenthal to RSVP and get directions or if you have any other questions

5/21-5/23         JLT Training 6:00 PM Fri to 4:00 PM Sun – sign ups @ Camp Baker; see Mr. John Tice

5/22                 Citizenship Merit Badge @ LDS Church in Walkersville 7:30 AM;

                        Bring bagged lunch, scout has to be 14 years old or in 7th grade,

register by emailing Rich Golling at r_Golling@yahoo.com

6/3                   Spring Court of Honor / Picnic; Coordinator Nancy Kelley – details will be emailed

(Rain Date 6/10)  A Friend of Scouting Representative will be doing a presentation after Court of Honor

 

 

SUMMER CAMPING EVENTS 2004

 

7/9-7/11           Lake Raystown, Pensylvania camping trip – sign ups by June 3, 2004;                       

Flyers with information and cost have been sent out; call Steven Noer with any questions

All those joining must take the BSA swim test prior to going

7/25-7/31         Camp Rodney; Chairperson Randy Buxbaum – final payments are due

8/15-8/20         Camp Misty Mount (1st year for new scouts – replacement for Camp Greentop)

8/17-8/21         Camp Airy - separate email with info sent already by Glenn Rosenthal

Cost for Camp Misty Mount and Camp Airy, each is $135; deposit $25 for each camp and sign ups by April 22, 2004; still looking for Leaders for both Camps

NEW!!!            Quarter Master Trailer” to load camping gear for future camp trips has arrived

Dances           Dance Coordinator - Nancy Kelley       Last dance scheduled:                        May 21                           

Dance is from 7:00-9:15 PM - Scouts duty from 6:30-10:15 PM (approx.)

X Mas Tree Sale Next Fall Hoyt Matthai will be looking for a Volunteer to be trained as Chairperson for the X Mas Tree Sale in 2005; contact Hoyt if interested              

T-shirts          Contact Philip Ramsey - $10 for scouts, $15 for adults

·   Please notify Beth Tice and Glen Rosenthal by email or phone call for any changes on email address or/and internet providers, so any info including monthly Cabin Log can be received.

·    The Cook Cabin is still closed and off limits to everyone. Please don’t go in or around the cabin until further notice.
